STAGE CLASSES

AGES 2 TO 14

Have fun & make friends while learning the fundamentals of dance. Our 10 stage program is built to help your dancer succeed no matter their skill level. Descriptions are below.

SPECIALTY CLASSES

HONE YOUR SKILLS

We also offer extended classes to perfect your skills in a specific style. Our specialty classes include hip hop, and conditioning. We also offer tumbling and gymnastics at Evolve Gymnastics and Tumbling located right next door.

Our 8 stage program is designed specifically for our young dancers. We focus on sharing the joys of dancing while learning different styles. Our young dancers will have fun and make strong friendships while building a passion for dancing.

    STAGE 1

Age: 2 and young 3yr olds

Classes are 30 minutes once per week. They combine tap, ballet, and tumbling. The students explore creative movement, music appreciation, and the basic techniques of dancing. Your dancer is probably ready for a stage one class if they are able to be without mom or dad for half an hour and have the desire to listen to music and be energetic.

    STAGE 2

Age: 3 and new 4yr olds

This class is for three or four year-olds with minimal experience. Classes are 45 minutes, once per week. It also combines tap, ballet, and tumbling; however, students learn more advanced techniques emphasizing body movement, shapes, and rhythm. Your dancer is probably ready for a stage two class if they are able to be without mom or dad for 45 minutes and can follow most two part directions. We'll begin working on jumping off two feet, some balancing on one foot, and some basic memory retention will be expected.

    STAGE 3

    Age: Experienced 3 - 4yr olds or new 4 - 5yr olds

These classes are also 45 minutes, once per week. Like the other classes it also combines tap, ballet, and tumbling; at this stage the students are expected to remember and recall the steps from week to week still using body movement, shapes, and rhythm. Your dancer is probably ready for a stage three class if they are able to jump on two feet, balance on one foot, understand the concept of front and back, and also beginning signs of upper and lower body connection and coordination.

    STAGE 4

    Age: Experienced 3 - 5yr olds or new 5 - 6yr olds

Very much like the stage 3 class, these classes are also 45 minutes, once per week. It does still combine tap, ballet, and tumbling, but there is less tumbling at this stage. This stage expects the students to move at a quicker pace while still remembering the steps from week to week. Your dancer is probably ready for a stage four class if they are able to jump on one foot, do a somersault with little to no assistance, and is able to retain information from week to week.

    STAGE 5

Age: Experienced 5 and 6yr olds or new 7yr olds

This class is a transition from the young dancer to a more advanced dancer. These classes are one hour in length and they will focus on the three core areas of dance, ballet, tap, and jazz. The main focus will be on ballet, and the students will be expected to learn more advanced concepts and skills at this level. Your dancer is probably ready for a stage five class if they are able to keep focus for one full hour, skip, and understands the difference between right and left.

    STAGE 6

    Age: 6 - 9yr olds

This class is for your 6-9 year old child. It is a 90 minute class, now elaborating on the styles of jazz, ballet, and tap.
