Our Competition Team is one large, talented group of dancers divided into smaller teams appropriate for each individual dancer's age and ability level!
These dancers spend countless hours working hard to perfect their craft both in the studio and around the community at workshops and other events.
They represent Above the Barre at competitive events in addition to performing at community events around the QCA.
These young men and women have made ATB a better place. We are so proud of the wonderful leaders they have become.
My advice for future dances is to never stop pushing yourself! There is always something you can improve on and just because everyone else doesn't care or is happy with where they are, you could always be better. Also, know that you will never be perfect and that's okay. Our mistakes help us grow! Most of all, try to enjoy your time at the studio. Even though we spend some long days here, it goes by so fast so remember this time with your friends! Have so much fun this year!
My advice for future dancers is to trust in failure. You can never grow or succeed without failure and it is okay to fail. Being able to dance for yourself and know that you are giving your all 24/7 is what should matter. Looking back at my time with this studio I don't think about the times i messed up or didn't win. I think about the memories and the lessons I learned. Just enjoy dance and never stop doing it for the little girl you once were.
My advice to future dancers is to always dance for yourself. Don't compare yourself to others, just focus on being the best you possible. Time goes by fast and there is no support system quite like ATB! Your dance family will give you memories that will last forever, so enjoy every moment even during long rehearsals!
