Dance has been part of my life since I was 2 years old. In my performing career I was lucky enough to be part of 10 national champion dances in addition to winning multiple solo titles. In October of 2002, I was also featured in the issue of Dance Spirit Magazine as one of the 50 national future stars. And although I adored my time on stage, my life truly began when I found my passion in teaching. My career as an educator includes many choreography awards, overall high scores, and national titles. But what I'm truly proud of is all of the amazing things my dancer's have gone on to accomplish. We have a ton of kids who have gone on to dance in college dance programs, on college dance teams, and Super Bowl halftimes, but also who chose other important roles as teachers, nurses, and entrepreneurs.
Outside of my life in dance, I'm passionate about education... I graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 2002, and in 2005, I received my Sports Management degree from St. Ambrose University. To further my dancing career, I attended Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School and received my graduate diploma of dance education in tap, jazz and ballet. After a brief break in my education to begin my family, I found myself itching for more. I am a proud graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program, the Disney Leadership Conference, and most recently attaining my certificate in Organizational Leadership from Harvard
My life's mission has been to create an environment where young people can learn who they are, and begin a path that leads them to changing the world. I have always taken pride in teaching my dancers not only the best technique possible, but also how to be the best version of themselves. My students, the parents and my amazing staff continue to make me a better version of myself than I ever dreamed possible - to be able to give even a fraction of that back is the biggest pleasure of my life.
When I'm not teaching, I live in Bettendorf with my husband Rob, and our unbelievable children, Sam and Maicey. The three of them continue to make my world go round.
